Fake Plants VS Real Plants

I want to list a few pros and cons behind fake and real plants indoors. Recently I have noticed numerous store owners want plants in their store yet worry about how they can maintain them. A common solution is faux plant decor. With technology advancing everything is becoming more realistic. I find faux succulents cute and convenient. I understand the hype, but I also value the air I breathe. When you add a plant in your environment it helps relieve stress, increases productivity, and clears the air.

While humans need oxygen to survive, plants absorb a gas we don’t need – carbon dioxide – and combine it with water and light to produce energy in a process called photosynthesis.

All plants photosynthesize, collecting carbon dioxide through holes in their leaves called “stomata” and converting it into sugar and oxygen. Cacti utilize CAM photosynthesis, a process unique to succulents.

I am not an expert on plants but I am a witness. My life changed when I started gardening. My health improved and I became more mindful of what was entering my body. We should be eating plants and fruit daily!

Succulents are an amazing plant. There geometrical design and vibrant colors bring attention to any space. If you want to upgrade your work space, home, or store I highly recommend investing in real plants.

What about the maintenance?

Owning space costs time and money. Maintaining these plants seem like an extra chore but truthfully it is very simple. If you know what a spray bottle, water, succulents, and scissors are keep reading.

If you get a healthy succulent there should be very low maintenance. I tell my clients to purchase a spray bottle so they can water the plants bi-weekly or as needed. When your plant starts to grow or blossom and you want to keep it clean use some scissors to cut the stalk off. Refer to my propagation blog to understand how to cut them!

Thanks for checking out my point of view on real vs fake plants.
